For years now, philosophers have wrestled with the answer to one of the most significant questions of our time...
If you’re not enjoying a classic Aperol spritz and some delectable prosciutto inside a greenhouse on a rooftop in Manhattan, are you really even enjoying springtime in New York?
While you ruminate on that inquiry, we’ll go ahead and tell you about SERRA FIORITA by Birreria. It’s a seasonal restaurant evocative of the verdant Italian countryside, and the spring version is open now on the partially-enclosed glass roof of Eataly NYC Flatiron. (Book your table for lunch or dinner here.)
You’ll want to come by here after work or over the weekend, when you’re craving a bucolic respite high above our bustling metropolis. In keeping with the Italian theme, they’ll have an extensive spritz cocktail menu, comprised of, yes, the classic Venetian Aperol Spritz, but also accoutrements like violet flower liqueur. It has "flower" in it, so you know it’s seasonally appropriate.

Hunger will strike eventually, as it always does when you’re in places that remind you of sprawling green hills and Italian cooking. Fortunately, you’ll have broccoli rabe pesto burrata, grilled Lucaniga sausages, basil pesto-topped gnocchi and Prosciutto de Carpegna—an intensely aromatic ham produced from a single breed of Italian pig from Italy's central Marche region—at your beck and call. Did we mention there's porchetta? This celebratory Roman pork roast comes served on a beautiful wooden board for everyone to share. ‘Tis a charmed life you lead.
Oh, and before we forget: now through the end of March (March 18 - Match 31 2019), SERRA FIORITA will be participating in Eataly’s Restaurant Fest, meaning you can get a two-course meal for just $28, along with specially-priced bottles of wine.
Hard to believe we were ever going to forget that...
