Quick.

No time to waste.

The fate of you-going-to-arguably-the-greatest-Chinese-restaurant-that-Chinatown-has-ever-seen lies in the balance.

So tonight, it’s off to Mister Jiu’s, the much-anticipated house of Chinese delights from chef Brandon Jew. It’ll be soft-open tonight and tomorrow night, and it’s taking reservations now for the official opening on Tuesday.

Take a look at these pictures while you let the gravity of this situation sink in.

The good chef cut his teeth at restaurants like Quince and Bar Agricole. Good places. This, though, is his passion project. He’s spent years planning it.

It’s bright and airy. It’s got an open kitchen. It’s got supersized potted plants and a nice view of the Transamerica Pyramid out the window. And those massive golden chandeliers—those are remnants of Four Seas, the old-school Chinatown restaurant that used to be here.

That same focus on tradition carries over to the menu, too. You and your date will be ordering five courses, which could include anything from tea-smoked duck to uni-topped rice noodle rolls. And you’ll be sipping on drinks from an Alembic vet. And you’ll be eating dessert from an Aziza pastry chef.

And, yes, this will all be happening in Chinatown.

In real life.

We checked.
