Hamptons Summer Preview

Look out the window. Look at the calendar. Summer beckons. And far out on the East End, where summer goes to celebrate itself, new things are happening. Things that will change the very nature of your being. Or at least of your summer holidays. You've only got 13 weekends until Labor Day. That's not a lot of time to mess around.

The Boathouse

The Boathouse

Restaurant by day and club by night, the Boathouse overlooks a marina where you can park your various yachts. Inside you'll find champagne buckets, polo shirts, conversations about water sports and... silver platters of oysters. On the half shell. Yes, it's the Hamptons' first nightclub raw bar.

Day & Night Brunch

Day & Night Brunch

There's a time for eggs Benedict and there's a time for magnums of prosecco with sparklers raining down on Belgian waffles. When the afternoon calls for the latter, this is your spot. Some call it a pre-party. Others call it recovery from the night before. We call it being social.

Race Lane

Race Lane

Sometimes it's the little things that matter... like on a day of perfect sunshine, not having to journey all the way indoors to get a drink. And for the first time in history, the dream is very real in East Hampton. The "first and only fully stocked outdoor bar in town" creates a high probability of assembling some of the most exciting tanning talent on the island. Bring lotion.

Opens Jun 3, Race Lane, 31 Race Ln, East Hampton, 631-324-5022

RdV East

RdV East

Meet your new Hamptons mega-club. We're talking 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space decked out with artful nudes watching over plush velvet banquettes. Think of your favorite downtown dance party. Then think of something more. About 5,000 square feet more.

Opens May 28, RdV East, 125 Tuckahoe Ln, South Hampton, 212-255-1933

Serafina

Serafina

For those times when only homemade pasta and thin-crust pizza in a small Italian citrus garden will do, we bring you the latest outpost of Serafina. This is your spot for lemon-scented happy houring in the backyard garden, sipping a top-shelf take on the Long Island Iced Tea and picking favorites for the polo match.

Opens May 28, Serafina, 104 N Main St, East Hampton, 631-267-3500

The Crow's Nest

The Crow's Nest

When the man behind the Jane and the Bowery Hotel takes over a sleepy restaurant and motel, the following thoughts come to mind: nobody is going to be doing much sleeping here anymore, and (we hope) they're going to put $99 motel rooms on the cocktail menu like at the Jane. Renovations aren't planned until next year, but the party could start at any moment.

Opens this weekend, The Crow's Nest, 4 Old West Lake Dr, Montauk, 631-668-2077
