Howdy, Partner
Pop-Art Flea Market on Great Jones
Every once in a while a place opens up and we have no idea what the f*** it is. But we like it. And that's
what really counts.
Welcome to
Partners & Spade,
Andy Spade and Anthony Sperduti's new crazyspace and pop-art
flea market on Great Jones.
The first sign that things may have gone off the deep end a bit are the 50 finches you'll notice twittering
about in the storefront window. But that's just scratching the surface... Walking in you'll feel as if
you've entered a thinkspace at the intersection of Julian Schnabel's studio and Pee-wee's playhouse.
The walls and drawers are lined with all manner of tchotchkes: souvenirs from the state of Arizona in one
drawer, old smut (pre-dating your dad's secret stash) in another, rare 1860s photographs on the back wall
and a glass case full of Lehman Brothers schwag. Everything is for sale, including "Impulse Buys" like
cigarettes and the NY Post, which require you to climb a ladder to retrieve them from an
out-of-reach shelf.
But if you're after something a little more...bespoke, Anthony and Andy are offering themselves up for
hire...for just about anything. Want a finch aviary of your own? No problem. Wish you had a giant tromp
l'oeil fireplace in your bedroom? They'll paint it for you so you can stay mentally warm this winter.
And if you're in the market for a little ego boost, they'll make you a "post confidence trophy," backdated
for anything you always wished you were good at.
Who's the number-one equestrian of 1986 now?
