Maybe we’re playing long odds here, but... we’re going to guess you enjoy funny things.

And if you were to add in, oh, let’s say a pretzel-bun burger, all the better.

And so there’s this...

It’s called The Stand, and it’s a brand-new bi-level den of full-bellied hilarity opening Friday in Gramercy.

Stand-up comedy. That’s what this place is all about. Comedy enhanced with tater-tot nachos (the tortilla chip had its time), Peking-duck pizza and customizable ice cream sandwiches.

Your night here: first, you’re buying tickets online to whatever 30 Rock writer or other guy-you-see-on-TV-and-in-movies-sometimes is doing a set that night. You’ll arrive upstairs in a blue room with some rustic banquettes and a bar with blue-velvet stools. It’s manned by a couple of Minetta Tavern veterans. So, you know, feel free to take your time up there.

Then you’re going downstairs, past all the black-and-white photos of comedy legends. It’s not a place for two-drink minimums, but feel free to grab some truffle popcorn and order up The Dice (gin, fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, agave syrup, Aperol). Stay focused, though. This is mostly about you at a round table watching someone be hilarious on a small stage in front of a brick wall.

Jokes always play better in front of a brick wall.
