We’re sending you to the suburbs.

There, we said it. Can’t take it back now. Don’t want to.

Just hear us out on Saltaire Oyster Bar & Fish House, a big old seafood spot in an old riverside warehouse in, get this, Port Chester. It opens Monday.

Why, you ask, are we telling you about something in Westchester? Excellent query. And the answers are as follows:

—You’re soon going to be trading your Hamptons and North Fork weekend jaunts for scenic drives through places with trees that change to nice colors. That’s just the circle of life.

—When you start to get up into those tree-having areas, the density of places for giant seafood towers and barrel-aged cocktails (try the Burge—tequila, mango-jalapeño-lime shrub, chili bitters and orange honey) is a lot less than it is in the city.

—Lobster bakes. They’re happening, and they involve chorizo-fennel salad, like any self-respecting suburban lobster bake should.

—Places to eat that are on rivers: good to be at in the city, good to be at everywhere.

—Places that are in century-old grain warehouses on those rivers: nonexistent in the city. Existent here.

Just look at it.

We thought that’d convince you.
