Say hello to Bacchanal, your new Bowery home for those vino-and-Spanish-octopus type of nights, opening tonight.

You’ve got the men behind Bathtub Gin to thank for this. And a Veritas and Apiary vet behind your food. Think ibérico ham and hen-of-the-woods risotto. And think a lot about wine, because the list runs 450 deep.

Two directions to take the night here: on the right, a short balcony of tufted-leather banquettes and two-tops. That’s date country. And on the left, the communal table. Read: group dinners where everybody gets to try everything... country.

But before you tackle all that business, sidle up to the bar and come to understand that you’ve entered a place where mai tais have mezcal, and that mezcal is washed in almond fat.
