A New Ski Hotel Playground near the French Alps

You made it all the way to France.

You made it all the way to the Alps.

You made it all the way to the Flaine ski area.

Now you’re expected to hoof it all over the place to get to the ski lift? No. No, you’re not.

Because Terminal Neige - Totem, a new ski-in, ski-out hotel, opens next Friday, nestled amid French Alpine splendor, and it wouldn’t dream of letting you do that.

The lobby is located about 350 feet from the nearest ski lift. You won’t miss it. If you do, there’s another one 300 feet farther. In other words, more time skiing, less time not skiing.

But not skiing, though. That seems like a pretty tempting proposition, too. See, there’s the rest of the resort to visit, with its public artwork by Picasso and Dubuffet scattered about. There’s that restaurant with a daily rotation of cast-iron casseroles to eat. There’s that hot chocolate spiked with locally distilled Chartreuse to drink in front of a fireplace. There’s that spa—with its outdoor hot tub in a retrofitted old gondola—to investigate.

And you didn’t come all the way here to not sit in a retrofitted hot tub gondola, did you?
