Basel. Much like Bono and Yanni, it’s now achieved singular-name status. Maybe it needed to make more room for the copious cocktailing and NY pop-ups. Like at these five happenings that should be on your agenda.

The Surf Lodge Pops Up in Miami Beach

The entertainment: Four days of Montauk-ness from the Surf Lodge’s staff, DJs and boot camp instructor. Expect a few sets from Paul Sevigny and an appearance from Adrian Grenier’s band. Yes, Adrian Grenier has a band.
The provisions: Truffled grilled cheese from the Surf Lodge Café.
Come in: Boardshorts. Nice ones.

DRE DAY

The One with André 3000

The entertainment: 47 custom jumpsuits worn by André 3000 Benjamin on tour. A film. Paintings. But yeah, he added the Benjamin on there. We know you’ve been wondering since you read that.
The provisions: Whatever’s in your flask.
Come in: A jumpsuit. Naturally.

SURF WAR

A Basel Pool Party. Of Course.

The entertainment: A roster of DJs and a local artist painting live around the Surfcomber’s pool.
The provisions: Pitchers of mojitos and buckets of beer. The kind of stuff you drink in a cabana.
Come in: A velvet tux. Kidding. C’mon. It’s a pool party.

HOSTESS COMMITTEE

These Ladies Look Familiar...

The entertainment: Some tasteful black-and-white photos of the female form... that look just like some waitresses and bartenders from Macchialina, Ball & Chain and Prohibition. Oh, that’s because they are.
The provisions: Wine and passed hors d’oeuvres. Gallery-party-type stuff.
Come in: What you wore to Ball & Chain last week.

SWINE NOT

Roast Pork and Endless Punch

The entertainment: Live graffiti painting. DJs. Pork.
The provisions: The aforementioned pork. Which, incidentally, is being prepped by the Pubbelly and Macchialina guys. Goes well with the limitless spiked punch from the Broken Shaker crew.
Come in: Something that stretches.
