Meet J. Wakefield Brewing. A warehouse turned funky beer mecca in, yes, Wynwood. It’s soft-open right now. And here’s what you need to know.
The vibe: Like drinking in Banksy’s version of a Star Wars set. It’s 5,400 square feet of Yoda-filled street art murals, Star Wars memorabilia and nine tanks named after Star Wars planets. So, yeah, kind of a George Lucas fever dream going on here. (See the slideshow.)
Number of beers made on-site: As of now, there are four flagship brews. You can count on an IPA, a hefeweizen, a porter and a Berliner weisse in that mix.
Number of beers on tap: 15. Although some of those are dedicated guest taps for the likes of Cigar City.
The food situation: Food trucks. Every single night.
The unexpected beer: A line of watermelon and blueberry Jolly Rancher Berliners.
