Skeptical Investigation

Shots That Drink Like a Cocktail. Maybe.

None We’re lovers. You know that. But every now and again, something comes across our desks that just seems... suspicious. Because of the tremendous material upside to all our lives if these claims pan out, we at times put ourselves in harm’s way to investigate. Albeit skeptically.

We call it: Skeptical Investigation. (Trademark pending.)

THE CLAIM
That a newly available (and highly portable) line of shots, Liqs, drink just like an actual cocktail. And pack the same kind of satisfactory wallop.

THE INVESTIGATION
Sunday.

11am. (Hey, no judgment.)

Our intrepid researcher obtained all four flavors of the shots: tequila cinnamon orange, vodka cucumber lime, vodka lychee grapefruit and vodka kamikaze. They then observed that the vodka shots clocked in at 45 proof while the lone tequila libation pulled in a respectable 55.

Palate cleansers were assembled (i.e., cheese, crackers, fun-size 3 Musketeers left over from Halloween). Shots were then individually sniffed, sipped and taken down.

THE VERDICT
The 50 mL plastic shot glasses make these ideal for a cocktail-on-the-go situation. While the tequila-cinnamon concoction was a bit cloying, the refreshing hit of the cucumber-lime shot would work nicely for a day at the beach, and the energizing citrus in the kamikaze could definitely power someone through a Second Saturday in Wynwood.

And that is what we call “success.”
