"If only there was a rooftop restaurant at the Kimpton Epic Hotel where you could simultaneously sup and take in downtown's beauty from a bird's-eye view."

That was you, wishing the Kimpton Epic Hotel had a rooftop restaurant.

"I think I see why you guys put me up to saying that."

That was also you, accurately predicting the introduction of Epic Pop-Up, a new sky-high restaurant that's open now and will be popping up every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through September. Check it out.

You'll shoot up to the 16th floor pool via elevator for this one. Walking in, once you're able to tear yourself away from the stunning view of the Miami River, your eyes will wander to the aqua, glass-top, succulent-covered tables and comfy brown wicker chairs resting around the pool. Keep those in mind. You'll end up there soon enough.

But for now, head toward the bar at the south end of the pool. Order a punch-style cocktail like the Pyrenees Trail with cognac, dry vermouth, ginger beer and lemon. It serves up to four, which means you'll have plenty to go 'round as you chat up your date. Feel free to listen, too.

As hunger sets in, head back to those tables, grab a menu and get to ordering the local grilled fish with tomatoes, garlic, onions and herbs. Let your date revel in the idea of chicken shish kebabs with tzatziki dip and grilled zucchini.

Sip on that punch bowl as you await the arrival of your feast and reflect on how truly great the idea of a rooftop restaurant in this very spot is.

And we're sipping...

And we're reflecting...
