A New Home for Dancing and Pork Belly

So here we are. The Wednesday before the Super Bowl.

You’ve got a lot on your plate before the big day—just yesterday, you spent nine hours trying to invent your Super Bowl dip’s elusive eighth layer. It’s a stressful time.

Our suggestion: relax. Unwind. Let loose. Like Run-DMC-fueled-dance-party-and-pork-belly-style loose...

Introducing Eating House, a guerrilla-esque pop-up restaurant taking over Cafe Ponce, slated to open Friday.

Imagine stepping into a time machine, setting the controls for 1992 and landing smack in the middle of an intimate house party... with really good dinner service. The lights: dim. The walls: bedecked with graffiti. On the speakers: old-school hip-hop (like 2 Live Crew and Kool Moe Dee), spun by a live DJ. You: bringing back the running man.

And should all that dancing make you hungry, you’ll be happy to know the food here’s from a guy who took top prize on Chopped. The menu changes nightly—so you may find yourself washing down a plate of foie gras and vanilla brioche with a bottle of Terrapin. Or vanquishing a hunk of pork belly in lime salt with the Yakuza Fizz (made with sparkling sake and grapefruit bitters).

Go ahead, wear your Zubaz.
