Crane Technique

A Shop with Things for Your Home Bar

Cocktail mixers. Rocks glasses. Bitters. A couch.

Which doesn’t belong?

Trick question. They all do.

Because they’re all at Hudson & Crane, a cool little home shop with a thing for home cocktailing, now open at the foot of Adams Morgan.

This is the first brick-and-mortar by a couple experts in staging houses for real estate showings. So they know their way around cowhide lounge chairs, bar stools made from vintage bike wheels and such. (Check out the place here.)

But wouldn’t you know it, they also know their way around your face, your scent and especially your drink.

Like so...

For your face: East Indian sandalwood oil beard treatment, made in small batches in Texas. It’s the Chuck Norris of beard treatments.

For your scent: Colognes with names like Bulletproof and Tainted Love, candles named after DC neighborhoods and other candles that smell like a campfire.

For your drink: Cocktail syrups out of Portland, a line of teas designed to pair with booze, make-your-own bitters kits and rocks glasses embossed with DC street maps. They’ve even got coasters made from old vinyl records, with labels intact.

Finally, a good use for U2’s Zooropa.
