Road to Recovery

Lifesaving Brunches on New Year’s Day

New Year’s Eve. It’s all fun and games until it’s the morning after and you’re limping into 2015 with nowhere to eat. So below: five recovery brunches that just might save your life. Or at least taste really good.

This Brunch Begins at 9am
MEDDLESOME MOTH

This Brunch Begins at 9am

Most brunches begin at 11am. Meddlesome Moth’s brunch begins at 9am. This means you can start recuperating extra early with bacon waffles and french toast sandwiches. Assuming you don’t sleep right through it.

Eggs Norwegian and Mimosas. Good Plan.
THE GIN MILL

Eggs Norwegian and Mimosas. Good Plan.

Well, you’re going to need some eggs. That much is certain. So a plate of eggs Norwegian should do the trick. But just in case, throw in some potato pancakes and crepes. Okay, mimosas, as well. One can never be too careful.

Jan 1, 11am-3pm, The Gin Mill, 1921 N Henderson Ave, 214-824-3343

Brunching for Luck and Money
CLARK FOOD & WINE CO.

Brunching for Luck and Money

Swing by Clark on Thursday, and you can involve yourself with hash and eggs and shrimp and grits, plus a DIY Bloody Mary bar. You’ll even get a gratis plate of black-eyed peas and greens for luck and money in the new year. So... maybe go buy some lottery tickets.

Chicken-Fried Steak Should Help
CAPITOL PUB

Chicken-Fried Steak Should Help

Steak and eggs: good. But let’s say you were to fry said steak... yeah, considering the circumstances, that’s probably for the best. So that’s what Capitol Pub’s doing for you on New Year’s Day. “More chicken-fried steak” is a solid 2015 resolution.

Jan 1, 11am-3pm, Capitol Pub, 2401 N Henderson Ave, 214-887-9330

There Will Be Bloodys. And Soup.
FEARING’S

There Will Be Bloodys. And Soup.

Maybe you’re still wearing a tux from the night before. Maybe you just want really good tortilla soup. Either way, Fearing’s is serving their regular three-course Sunday brunch with a dessert trio and Bloody Marys. Except they’re doing so on Thursday. Well, Sunday, too, if you’re free.

Jan 1, 11:30am-3pm, Fearing’s, 2121 McKinney Ave, 214-922-4848
