Raise your hand if you like pizza.

Okay, great, we’ll continue.

Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is a casual spot where you can eat deep-dish pies, drink cold draft beers and do both right now because it just opened today at Mockingbird Station. (Here, take a look.)

These guys know a thing or two about doughy Italian delicacies. So it was mighty thoughtful of them to set up shop in our fair town and then fill that shop with pizzas and calzones. And for good measure, a bar that’s 36 taps strong. (See the menu.)

It’s taken over the old Mockingbird Taproom space, so the layout should look familiar. But they’ve updated things with some exposed bricks over here, red-backed booths over there... anyway, it’s comfortable. Real elbows-on-the-table, pizza-eating ambiance.

Just the type of place that takes kindly to ordering a round of beers and mozzarella-stuffed meatballs to start. And then ordering a 14-inch “Chicago thick” Double Deckeroni, which is just about the biggest, pepperoni-est thing you’ve ever seen. That should segue nicely into a pizza-size oatmeal-chocolate-chip cookie.

Or maybe just a nap.
