It’s been a long, hard summer.

The humidity. The tribulations of the Rangers sale. Mark Cuban’s acting on Entourage. There’s been a lot of pain.

This weekend, you deserve a reward. Something like a Rice Krispies treat. Or some bacon. Or some ice cream. Better yet, all of that, rolled into a sandwich. With fudge.

Introducing the monumental off-the-menu creation known quite thoroughly as The Bacon Rice Krispies Treat Ice Cream Sandwich, premiering in your mouth this Friday at Tillman’s Roadhouse.

In short, this is what would happen if your mother’s Rice Krispies snacks collided with an ice cream truck and a bacon silo.

It starts simply enough, with vanilla ice cream. To this is added milk from a bowl of Rice Krispies cereal, a few broken-up Rice Krispies treats and a little more marshmallow fluff. Then, all of this is sandwiched between two pieces of fudge, which play the role of bread. And, oh yeah, we almost forgot: the fudge has been studded with diced and rendered house-smoked bacon.

The result is something that’s nearly indescribable, but needless to say, when you put it in your mouth, you’ll sense the sweetness of the ice cream and fudge and Rice Krispies, countered with the subtle smokiness and crispy meatness of the bacon.

And you might need a cigarette afterwards...
