The Giants Are Back. Here’s a Pig Roast to Celebrate.

Tomorrow is opening day for the Giants. And it’s an even year, which can only mean one thing. Yep, a whole hog roast on Divis at 4505, complete with all the Anchor Orange Splash IPA you’d expect at such a thing. Unless you’re expecting things all wrong.

Apr 7, 1:30-10pm, no cover, 4505 Burgers & BBQ, 705 Divisadero St (between Grove and Fulton), 415-231-6993

Chicken on a Stick in Temescal

Speaking of whole animals, here’s Hina Yakitori. It’s a chicken-centric skewer joint that’s having a couple of soft-opening seatings this weekend in Temescal. They’re breaking down whole birds and serving them grilled, fried, smoked, in curry and alongside eggs so you can delve into matters of a philosophical nature over dinner.

Soft-open Apr 8-9, 5:45-9:30pm, Hina Yakitori, 4828 Telegraph Ave (between 48th and 49th), Oakland, 510-593-2004, see the menu
