This Is One Way to Benefit a Museum

Most museum benefits are a little stuffy. This museum benefit celebrates the Cartoon Art Museum’s final days in their current location with music, drinks and cartoonists who will draw you superheroes and stuff. So this one doesn’t seem stuffy.

Something’s Happening on 20th Street
BLOCK JAMS

Something’s Happening on 20th Street

Huh. Just last week, the 20th Street corridor was conspicuously not lined with vendors like Flour + Water, Trick Dog and the Tradesman. Nor did there exist a row of art exhibitions. Or musicians doing musician things. What a difference a week and a giant block party makes.

“Oh, Great. This Again.” —Pigs
HIGH FIVES

“Oh, Great. This Again.” —Pigs

This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed home. This little piggy went to Cochon 555 with all the other little heritage piggies to be made into BBQ by chefs. The results of which you’ll gladly pair with fine whiskeys. That’s totally how that goes.

Quite a Bit of Excess at the Ritz
CARLTON DANCE

Quite a Bit of Excess at the Ritz

Your Date: Let’s just do something low-key tonight.
You: Great, I’ll make a reservation at that nice new tasting lounge inside the Ritz. They’ve got exclusive JCB wine tasting flights, crispy duck fritters, caviar with lobster essence and...
Your Date: What is it, Opposite Day or something?

Monday
The Niners Play Monday. Go Here.
STOCK PARTY

The Niners Play Monday. Go Here.

The rule: Mondays are the worst.
The exception: A 49ers season-opener party at Stock in Trade, where you’ll play halftime bocce on their indoor court and revel in all-night happy hour specials.
The other exception: Labor Day, but that already happened.
