We're always interested in spots teeming with attractive women.
And if you end up with a new blazer, all the better.
Welcome to the big, British world of Topshop (for the ladies) and
Topman (your excuse to surround
yourself with the ladies), unleashing their rock-flavored gear for the first time in the U.S. at their new
Soho store this Thursday.
We thought you'd like the first peek inside…
The first thing you'll notice in this new Broadway giant is a ground level filled with fashionable ladies
fighting over the latest Kate Moss-designed sundress. Take your time, naturally, but at some point head
downstairs to Topman.
But be warned: head-to-toe Topman may leave you looking like the bass player in an up-and-coming art rock
trio from the south side of London (which isn't bad if you've released a record this year). But our
suggestion is to approach with a bit more caution and aim for a few basics (button-downs, jeans, boat shoes)
that will add a bit of edge to your lazy, preppy summer days without denting your wallet.
And on top of their massive range of bright sweaters, Bobby Darin slim suits and cheap fedoras, they've
cornered off a section of the store called "Lens" and brought in more familiar names like Tim Hamilton and
Richard Chai to design some more elegant shirts, pants and the like—you know, just to keep things
civilized.
After all, they are British.
