You like to go to Amsterdam and do things that... let’s just say you can’t do here.

Sip carbonated gin.

Cruise canals with the same boat Winston Churchill used.

Sleep in rooms with trumpet-covered walls.

Okay, you can probably do that last one at home. But, hey, the Pulitzer Amsterdam has the trumpets all ready for you, so why not?

A hotel since 1960 (it’s also part of Preferred Hotels’ LVX Collection), it completed a massive renovation last week. This property consists of 25 individual homes dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries that have been linked together over the years to become one splendid 225-room hotel.

Explore all the newness... and oldness. Eat sole meunière at Jansz, their discreet boîte. Sip a gin and tonic in which the gin has been carbonated at Pulitzer’s Bar, their sweet little lounge. Cruise canals in their 1906 salon boat that Churchill himself once sailed on when he visited town. Then get ready for bed. You’ve got a lot of choices.

Each room is unique, but some are more unique than others. There’s the Music Collector’s Suite. It’s got those fully trumpeted walls and a vintage vinyl collection at your disposal. The Art Collector’s Suite offers edgy contemporary art and a well-stocked modernist bar at your disposal. The romantic Pulitzer Suite is named after hotel founder Peter Pulitzer, Joseph Pulitzer’s grandson. It’s got a freestanding bathtub in the middle of the suite at your disposal.

So basically, things are at your disposal.
