Which brings us to CueLight, a curious little machine that projects elegantly trippy images on your pool table, available now.

It’s possibly the greatest thing to happen in the field of pool table technology since the invention of felt. (It may also be a completely unnecessary addition to something that was pretty much already perfect. But still.)

Here’s the deal: this thing projects high-def psychedelia onto your pool table. (And if for some reason you don’t have one, they can take care of that, too.) Water ripples that follow your cue ball: yes. Flames: sure, why not. A six-foot image of your face: of course.

Right about now, you may be thinking, “This sounds like something that belongs in a Vegas lounge.” And you’d be exactly right. They’ve got them at the Hard Rock. And since your in-home slot machine and barside roulette wheel are starting to show their age, it might be just the right time for a Vegas-style game room update.

Because installing a buffet would just be tacky.
