Say It with Us: “Wheelbarrow Barbecue”

These German Designers Turned Two Good Things into One Great Thing

Grills can be divided into two basic categories.

1) Those that are wheelbarrows.

2) Those that are not.

Preference will be given to the former.

We don’t make the rules, we just like wheelbarrows.

And this is Barrow, a German-made, live-fire, mobile cooking device that’s also an honest-to-God wheelbarrow. A nice one. It’s available online now.

The minimalist design has joined a fire bowl with a couple of support pieces that also function as handles. There’s a wooden wheel for moving the whole thing around, and the included metal grate is your cooktop. Just set some charcoal alight, put a few kebabs on the grill, and you’re halfway to dinner.

But you’ve got options. Throw some wood in there, pull up a few chairs, requisition a cooler of beer and have yourself a nice backyard bonfire. You could even roast some marshmallows or hot dogs or something.

Or order a pizza.

See? Options.
