Things to do for November 28, 2014

The Weekender

Oysters, Champagne and Bossa Nova

Okay, the stuffing’s secret ingredient was weekend.

Friday
Dinner and a Show. Here’s the Dinner.
BRAVA HEART

Dinner and a Show. Here’s the Dinner.

There’s a new dinner spot in the Ziff Ballet Opera House. It’s called Brava! (yes, with the exclamation point). And it’s a prix fixe deal with rum-cured short ribs, avocado-tomato salad and key lime crème brûlée. You don’t need a show ticket to get in, but hey—when in an opera house.

A Little Poolside Shopping. Why Not.
PARKE & RECREATION

A Little Poolside Shopping. Why Not.

Here’s what you’ll be doing at Parke & Ronen’s pop-up shop by the Shelborne’s pool:
1. Finding a new bathing suit, and maybe a button-down shirt or shorts.
2. Admiring the pool.
3. Taking your new suit for a test-swim.
4. Thinking you should have probably asked to do that first.

Saturday
Brunching with Lobster Benedicts
THERE WILL BE BLOOD ORANGE

Brunching with Lobster Benedicts

Once upon a time, if you visited Mignonette on a Saturday morning, you would... well, do nothing. The place was closed. But now, you can go and have an egg salad sandwich loaded with caviar, a lobster benedict and some blood-orange mimosas. All’s well that ends with blood-orange mimosas.

Sat-Sun, 11:30am-3pm, Mignonette, 210 NE 18th St, 305-374-4635

A Night of Jazz and Bubbly Carts
TO THE LILT

A Night of Jazz and Bubbly Carts

Say you’re on a date. Jazz sounds about right. Maybe a sax player and an Australian guitarist mixing it up. A little roving-bubbly-cart action with some charcuterie and lobster cocktails. Those things may or may not be happening at Lilt tomorrow. Okay, it’s more in the “may” camp.

Sunday
Caipirinhas and Bossa Nova. Oh, Yes.
LIKE A BOSSA

Caipirinhas and Bossa Nova. Oh, Yes.

Michael Jackson and bossa nova have... nothing in common. Oh, except this: BraSoul’s performing at the Regent’s new Brazilian night with bossa nova covers of the King of Pop and Stevie Wonder. Naturally, caipirinhas will be on hand. Naturally.
