Welcome to The Arctic Open, the annual summer tournament at the world's northernmost 18-hole golf course. Because the two-day tourney takes place during White Nights, those few weeks in high-latitude areas during which sunsets are late, sunrises are early and darkness is never complete, you'll be able to roam the fairways until two, three or four in the morning—making this the only golf tournament in the world that runs through the night. (It's like Kinko's meets Pebble Beach.)

But this land is made for more than just putting. Positioned at the bottom of the long Eyjafjordur Fjord, Akureyri is surrounded by mountains, shielding you from strong winds, keeping June temps in the 50s and creating gorgeous backdrops for off-course activities like horseback riding, river rafting and whale watching.

And with so many late-night hours spent outdoors, you'll have no choice but to use your days catching up on what you usually do at night.
