The Barbour Is In

The Biggest Barbour Store in the World

Great little shop in Lincoln Park. Lots of cool, Steve McQueen–inspired jackets in there.

But say you’re in the Gold Coast. And you’re searching for more of a Daniel Craig/007 look. Obviously, then, you need the big guns.

Or at least this place: Barbour, a gigantic, bi-level shop of rugged Britishness on Walton Street, now open and ready to outfit you for fall.

This is Barbour’s biggest store in the known universe. If Barbour makes it, you’ll find it here.

So say you need something for hunting quail in the country next month. Or... for keeping the rain off you as you hunt for cabs in River North. You’ll pop in here and go upstairs, which feels like a drawing room from Gosford Park. Then you’ll try on the kind of quilted riding jackets that Princes William and Harry might sport around Balmoral Castle.

But if you’re looking for less traditional goods, head downstairs. They’ve got waxed-cotton, multi-pocketed Commander jackets like Daniel Craig wore in the last Bond film. And those motorcycle racing jackets from the Steve McQueen line. You’ll even find a Triumph motorcycle on display, courtesy of Motoworks Chicago.

It’s the perfect motorcycle jacket accessory.
