A New Beer Garden in Lincoln Park

We’ve got big news today, so we’ll just come right out and say it: you might never watch a Bears game the same way again.

No, we’re not talking sideline seats with Ditka, but you’re close: we’re talking nearly 60 TVs, a beer garden and... okay, it’s 53 TVs, but who’s counting.

Say hello to The Crossing, an enormous sports bar with an equally enormous beer garden, slated to open in Lincoln Park next week.

This is the latest venture from Four Corners Tavern Group, the guys behind Benchmark, so you can expect another mélange of exposed brick and gleaming mahogany bars. But you’re not here for the decor: you’re here for the 53 flat-screens, broadcasting every moment of glory for the Bears, Bulls and Cubs. (2011’s the year, we can feel it.)

So say it’s a crisp Sunday afternoon. You’re craving an ice-cold brew, Hickory House Ribs and (fingers crossed) a Bears victory. You’ll enter the main room, stop at one of the cozy booths equipped with its own TV and order up a Nuke LaLoosh—a pizza with four kinds of meat and a side of Susan Sarandon. (Susan’s availability not guaranteed.)

Before long, it’ll be beer garden time. You’ll settle in under a cabana, order up a round of Half Acre and keep warm next to one of the big outdoor fireplaces as you soak in the game on one of eight more TVs.

What we’re saying is: there’s a lot of TVs.
