Hopping Spree

Meet Boston’s First Communal Brewery

None Beer.

Presumably, that’s something you like to drink.

And presumably, that’s something you’d like to brew a big batch of and take home with you.

So presumably, you should get excited for Hopster’s Brew & Boards, Boston’s first communal brewery, where you can select, ferment and brew your own beer to take home with you, taking reservations now for September.

This is kind of like your own personal brewery in Newton. Or the beer version of Breaking Bad. Or something completely different you haven’t even thought of yet.

You’ll start by reserving a brew session. Then you’ll show up, stand before a shimmering kettle (or 10 of them... you can reserve them all at once) and pay attention as a brewmaster walks you through the three-hour brewing process.

There’ll be a little chemistry involved. The crushing and smelling of dried hops. The sampling of house brews for... reference. They’ll even age your masterpiece in an old bourbon barrel from Kentucky if you ask nicely.

And sure, they’ll deliver your cases to you once they’re ready. But come back and pick them up instead. Crack one open over their housemade ploughman’s cheese and a charcuterie board.

Unless you have that stuff at home.
