Editing Sweet

You: Now a Music Video Director

None Things your phone contains:

Pictures. Texts. Videos of your friends sleeping with their mouths open.

Starting today, that last one will make a hilarious music video.

With this: Vjay, a simple iPhone and iPad app that turns your mundane phone-video footage into MTV-worthy content, available now.

Years from now, when future film students obsess over the greats who have defied conventional ways to express the drama of a cat befuddled by the average laser pointer, this will be the reason you are studied (besides why you loved torturing your cat).

But all legends have a beginning. Yours starts with this, which you’ll use to edit via editing tools (video loops, mashups, cue points) and music overlays (it pulls from your iTunes). If you feel the only thing stopping a video from being a masterpiece is a scene from Teen Wolf Too, you can download and slice a clip right in (’80s schlock = comedy gold).

You can even share your creations on YouTube and Facebook, should your Aunt Shelby deserve a music-video holiday greeting this year in place of a normal card.

If anything says “Happy Thanksgiving,” it’s a video of your dog set to Lil Wayne.
