Take a Dive
Burgers and Pretzel-Pickles in Somerville
It’s a strange time of year.
Socks nailed over fireplaces. Bee Gees holiday albums. Malls.
Making it all tolerable: family time. Wait, no: burgers.
So rejoice for
Burger Dive, a new oasis for the kind of sustenance you’ll need this season
(namely, burgers and fried pickles coated in beer-and-pretzel batter), soft-opening today in
Somerville.
Brought to you by the guys behind Papagayo and Max & Dylan’s, this is a
45-seat
burger heaven swathed in salvaged wood and industrial-y aluminum. Translation: the perfect place to
rest, regroup and eat some meat sandwiches after surviving a trip with your Aunt Beatrice to the Assembly
Row Mall.
About those meat sandwiches: you’ll definitely want to try the
50/50 Baconator burger, which
contains cubes of bacon stuffed into the patties. And you’ll want to wash it down with one of the eight
milkshakes, in flavors like vanilla, s’mores and toasted marshmallow.
And if you don’t think you have the strength to make it to Somerville, read this: they’ve also got a PT
Cruiser shaped like a giant burger that can dispense burgers (via its six-foot mobile grill) at tailgating
events and private parties.
All old-timey cars should be cheeseburger-compatible.
