40 Cocktails in an Old Train Station

None 4 Photos H. Harper Station
Once upon a time, there was a train station.

Trains came in and out of it carrying freight and such. And all was well.

Then it closed. And someone put a 30-foot bar in it.

And all was... nothing short of glorious.

Introducing H. Harper Station, your new go-to for strong rye whiskey, craft beer on tap and pisco punch bowls for four, soft-opening this Sunday night in Reynoldstown.

What you’re pretty much dealing with here is a healthy mix of Prohibition-era swank and Reynoldstown grit—or if Nucky Thompson and Steve McQueen got into the turning-train-stations-into-bars business. As you make your scene through the revolving door you’ll find things like floor-to-ceiling brick, dark leather banquettes and a potbelly stove. Take note, and move on... the bar is the show here.

And that’s where you’ll ease into a seat, strike up a conversation with your barkeep and begin the delicate process of selecting from over 40 specialty cocktails like the Daisy Buchanan (bourbon, yellow chartreuse, egg white) or the Wooden Teeth with rye whiskey, ginger and housemade vanilla cream soda.

Or if (and when) you’re ready to segue into something a bit more adventurous, you’ll find it at the communal table near the entrance, where you and your new friends will seal the bond over some Bacon & Eggs Linguini and Crawfish Hushpuppies. Oh, and a giant punch bowl full of white whiskey and sparkling wine—aka the Buford Highway Artillery Punch.

Moonshine + strangers = interesting evening.
