About to be discussed: tables. But... they’re very good tables. They’re some of the best tables in the city for watching March Madness. Tell no one. Even though it’s probably fine if you tell everyone.

THE BIG-GROUP SPOT

Tables #61 and #62 at Smokebelly

You require: Plenty of space for you and your bracketeering associates.
You’ll receive: Two tables, easily pushed together to form one large super-table. They’re directly in front of a TV and directly beside a stage. And on weekends, a band will be on that stage. Weekends it is.

THE PORCH

Table #4 at Ladybird

You require: Some Beltline people-watching and a nice breeze.
You’ll receive: A table on the covered porch with a shotgun view of the flat-screen in the bar. Close enough to read the shot clock. Far enough away that your date won’t realize you’re reading the shot clock.

THE COCKTAIL BAR

Table #13 at Grain

You require: Alone time. Concentration. Serious beverages.
You’ll receive: A little piece of wood bolted to a column off to the side. Just enough room for your elbows. And a Blooming Hill made with gin, ginger and lemongrass. Probably some dollar oysters. But that’s it.

THE PROBABLY-TOO-FANCY-FOR-THIS

Table #6 at Bones

You require: The sweet aroma of smoky bone-in filets and business deals being closed.
You’ll receive: A round table in the bar area. It’s a drinks-only table, so it’s a good table. There’s a clear line to the tube, and you’re inches from the jukebox. You basically own the place.

THE SPORTS DIVE

Any Bar Stool at Moe’s & Joe’s

You require: The ultimate form of communal camaraderie. And a seat without a back.
You’ll receive: Well... more than one specific table. But turns out, the bar at Moe’s & Joe’s transcends tables (when watching sports) (and when drinking beer) (and mostly just in general).
