Maybe you're a diehard football fan. Maybe you couldn't care less about the 49ers and the Chiefs and what happens on the field.

But there's one thing we can all agree on: snacks.

Because Super Bowl Sunday is not just the biggest sporting event of the year, it's the biggest eating event of the year.

A time when pizzas, wings, sandwiches, barbecue and elaborate dips take the stage and garner just as much interest as  — or arguably more interest than — the game.

So you can't phone it in. We're talking about blood, sweat and tears, as you leave it all out there on the dining table.

But we're also talking about wings. Specifically this recipe from Bubby's, the beloved restaurant in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood. Make it for your watch party, and prepare your hands for all the congratulatory high fives.

Bubby's Buffalo Wings Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Wings:

  • 3 lbs chicken wings
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
2. Rinse wings, then pat them dry. Drying them out on a sheet pan in the fridge is even better to ensure they stay crispy.
3. Mix together cornstarch, paprika and sea salt. Coat the wings with the mixture.
4. Place wings on a sheet pan and cook for 20 minutes, then flip. Cook for an additional 20 minutes.
5. Mix all ingredients for the sauce in a big bowl. Add chicken wings, and toss them in the sauce. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
