A Critical Summer Pop-Up Bar in Silver Lake

There is a place.

A place that’s a little Carrara-marble bar.

A bar with only four stools, in the center of a gorgeous hidden courtyard, that only materializes one night a week with one of the city’s finest barmen waiting behind it.

Go on. He’s waiting.

It’s Matthew Biancaniello’s Pop-Up Bar at Cliff’s Edge, your new “I know a little place” summertime bar, happening Wednesdays starting this week in Silver Lake.

You know Matt. Kind of guy who did heirloom tomato mojitos at Library Bar, once put nitro-frozen bourbon in an ostrich egg and thought POT Lobby Bar could use some uni-infused tequila. You know. Matt.

And now, for his next trick...

You’ll enter that legendary Cliff’s Edge courtyard hidden behind the parking lot. You’ll buy drink tickets from the host stand, so you and Mr. Biancaniello don’t have to mess with money stuff. And there are no reservations, so you’ll stake your claim at one of those four stools ASAP. (There are a couple other tables nearby for this, but you want the bar.)

You’ll tell Matt you’ve always wondered what the Brazilian desert tastes like, and maybe he’ll serve you something with his cactus-infused cachaça. Your date might ask why there’s wild sage on the bar. He might answer with his sage hot chocolate.

Or you all might do other stuff.
