Pisco and Ceviche on a Hollywood Patio

Okay, enough.

Robocop. About Last Night. Endless Love. All remakes, all (re)opened last weekend.

Please... seriously. No more remakes.*

(Re)introducing Los Balcones, a head-to-toe remake of Hollywood’s Los Balcones del Peru space that’s now a dusty-looking cantina, opening next Wednesday on Vine.

If you knew it before, you won’t recognize it now: looks ripped straight from some lost Cormac McCarthy story, about a gang of seedy cowboys who never miss the ArcLight Presents. The bar, now centered in back, is topped with well-shellacked woods (reclaimed from... the ceiling) and squeezed between exposed wall studs suspending wine bottles and desert-toned Incan stencils. You know what Incan stencils say: movie date.

Next time you’re catching an ArcLight flick across the street, meet up at that bar for some pre-cinema pisco punches with pineapple, citrus and strawberry, designed by Marcos Tello. Then move to your table on the sidewalk patio out front for some ceviche with fried calamari or Wagyu short ribs with huacatay.

And after you eat it, the chef will remake it...
