We don’t want to keep you.

We know you’re staring down the barrel of a well-deserved three-day weekend.

But before you blast off, we just wanted to tell you about a new patio bar about to open along the water.

Don’t worry. The Boston Tea Party plays a part.

Introducing RumBa on the Waterfront, a new sun-drenched home for outdoor drinking and gazing at the Fort Point Channel, soft-opening tonight behind the InterContinental.

Picture the well-manicured granite and grass backyard of the InterContinental. Now picture it with some giant flowerpots, low-slung blue sofas, high-top tables, huge umbrellas and a 360-degree Austrian bar. Boom—that’s this.

In other words, the perfect spot to meet up with that PhD candidate in American Revolution history you’ve been texting, order a few braised Kurobuta pork belly sliders and see where things lead. (We’re guessing they’ll lead to some rum-heavy tiki drinks or maybe a Life & LiberTea: honey, muddled lemons and Earl Grey tea steeped in Ipswich-based Privateer rum.)

And speaking of tea, you’ll be happy to know that the patio looks out on the very spot where the Boston Tea Party happened in 1773.

Probably best not to reenact it.
