As luck would have it, Chalet Jupiter (above left, booking now) and Chalet Papillon (above right, also booking now) exist where they formerly didn’t.

They’re both in Val d’Isère, France.

They’re both from chalet master Scott Dunn.

And they’re both... going head-to-head for your amusement.

The Layout
Chalet Jupiter: You and seven others will be very comfortable here. There’s an open fireplace in the living area, a hot tub on the balcony and a master bedroom on the mezzanine. (See the slideshow.)
Chalet Papillon: This one sleeps 10, and it’s just a few feet from a chairlift. Also: indoor pool. Also: indoor hammam.

The Vibe
Chalet Jupiter: There’s a real luxury-barn-meets-loft thing going on here. Think bright-red chairs, natural stone and a close-up painting of a cow.
Chalet Papillon: If you like sexy lodges and large balconies and floor-to-ceiling views of the slopes, consider yourself not displeased.

The Extracurriculars
Chalet Jupiter: For the home: private chefs and drivers. For outside the home: bungee jumping off a ski ramp.
Chalet Papillon: All that. And in the winter months, anything from heli-skiing to dogsledding to driving on an ice track.

Careful, it’s probably slippery.
