Shinola. Great place filled with great things. Great things that now suddenly include a handsome selection of wares from Allbirds. Yes, the SF-based purveyor of lightweight wool shoes is popping up there this month, so you should probably go check it out. Bring your feet.

Schroeder’s is always a fine option for boots of beer and brats. Especially this Friday, when they kick off their Oktoberfest celebrations with a full-on biergarten on Front Street. There will be pretzels. There will be live music and polka dancing. There will be you since you’re a person of reason.

A Bloody Mary Fest for Your Sunday Pleasure

In case a festival filled with Bloodys from multiple bars and restaurants around town sounds like a nice way to spend a Sunday, behold: the aptly named Bloody Mary Festival. You’ll sip spicy spiked concoctions from the likes of the Front Porch and Nido, then judge them, then repeat. Then probably keep repeating.

Lauren Sloss requires a climate that allows her to wear motorcycle boots daily. She likes her bourbon neat and her martinis dirty, and would like to be the lead singer of a punk rock band when she grows up.
