Do Drinks or Do Dinner. But Really, Do Both.

Animal Heads and a Former Animal Chef in Koreatown

“Should we eat beside Morrissey?”

“Or would you prefer sitting below that blowfish?”

These are real-world decisions.

To be tackled at Here’s Looking at You, a compelling new Koreatown restaurant where tobacco-smoked cocktails accompany an Animal vet’s wood-grilled steaks. It’s opening Wednesday, and here’s the slideshow.

Pre-Wiltern drinking dates. Post–Wi Spa dinners. You’ll conduct those at this attractive 6th Street corner counting African oryx heads, numerous cookbooks and just one Morrissey poster among its designer bric-a-brac.

And you’ll be better for this decision once you’re at the bar, ignoring the blowfish taxidermy to exchange wide eyes over Sunset Vampires (the precise juncture where bourbon with tobacco-smoked Coke syrup enters your lives).

If staying for dinner, take a center two-top. A salad may appear. But it will be more like nectarines over Syrian cheese topped with butter-fried rye crumblings. A steak will be next. And it will be quite like a wood-grilled, dry-aged, bone-in Colorado Holstein ribeye. You’ll be happy. And young. And together. Life is good.

But if you’re just doing drinks, you should know about the bar-only “Timecard Special.” It’s a 50-proof pickleback sorbet served with a mini-bottle of Miller High Life.

You can totally just eat the sorbet.
