Look, you can’t just spend all summer basking in the sunshine on Palihouse’s roof.

Nope, at some point you’ll need to come in and eat something.

And that’s where Mardi comes in. It’s the West Hollywood hotel’s new all-day restaurant proposing big shareable feasts of lamb and pork neck, and it’s now taking reservations online for Tuesday’s opening. Both this slideshow and this menu are delicious.

It’s going to be quite pleasant here. Three-quarters of it is an alfresco, garden-y, European courtyard off the lobby’s midsection with vines spilling out of ceramic bathtubs. To its left is a small hunter’s den with books and flying geese all over the walls. But you can’t eat any of that.

What you can (and will) eat is big rustic plates of meat and non-meat meant for the whole table to pass around. Those come from Kris Tominaga of Cadet and The Hart and The Hunter fame, and are meant to pair nicely with wine and things like the amaro-and-coconut-cream-laced Pisco Brandy cocktail.

Anyway, check out the dishes in this slideshow before you commit.

In case you’re typically cautious about courtyard lamb.
