The gents at Hugh & Crye are giving UD readers 25% off all their button-down collar shirts, from basic blue or white oxfords to bold pink-and-green checks, in case you’re trying to hold on to summer. But the flip-flops probably already give you away.
Like some kind of fever dream, this place will have you strolling into a giant farmhouse. On the waterfront. Where you can get growlers and flaming bowls of tiki drinks for your table. Alongside pizza, tacos and sushi with compressed watermelon. Which taken together may give you even weirder dreams.
With October’s demise, so went your chances to... fest. Or so you thought. The beer-loving folks at Rustico are back with another parking-lot party called Novemberfest. Think 40 strong ales and harvest ales, oysters, winter-ale stew and turkey-sausage pie. We can’t promise tubas.
We know two things: you’re bereft of pie right now. And it needn’t be so. Not when you’ve got the baker from Whisked popping up this weekend at Qualia Coffee and bringing with her Mexican chocolate pie, salted-caramel apple pie and bacon/leek/gruyère quiche. Which probably doesn’t need whipped cream.
There is no Tilt-a-Whirl at this pop-up at Sova. What there is: Two Fat Guys (their name, not ours) serving four courses of carnival-inspired grub like marrow-glazed pretzels, crispy trotters and oyster fritters, each paired with a cocktail, beer or bubbly. You’ll have to bring your own Kewpie doll.
