Things commonly found in a good adventure:

Caverns.

Mountain lions.

Snacks.

You, sleeping in Ted Turner’s private home.

Sounds a lot like Ted Turner Expeditions, a new adventure service in the great American Southwest that starts with you exploring one of three New Mexico ranches and ends with you sleeping in one of Ted Turner’s houses, now booking online. (The ranches will see you now.)

Your vacation as an old prospector goes like this:

Book a masseuse and see some bats at the Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa.
Located in the town of Truth or Consequences, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for massages, plates of bison filets with black-truffle sauce and hikes into former lava tubes filled with 1.6 million bats.

Hike around Vermejo Park Ranch.
This land sits fairly close to southern Colorado, so expect some mountains. Also expect to bike and fish and photograph mountain lions. Or, like, birds.

Find some fossils at Ladder Ranch.
Native American artifacts, dinosaur remains and an actual intact ghost town are waiting for you here. Sorry, no bats.

Crash at Ted’s house.
You can stay in his personal home. It’s isolated and filled with bison-skin rugs and affords never-ending views of the majestic wilderness.

It’s different from his place in Atlanta.
