Urban Cannibals Up and Moved to Midtown

Grocery shopping is the worst.

But gin drinking is the best.

Therefore...

Meet thy new Urban Cannibals, a neighborhood bodega and café that used to be in the East Atlanta Village but is now soft-open in Midtown with sandwiches, a little bar and something we just decided to call “bodega dinner service.” (Take a look right in here.)

Yes, they still have the bodega part with things like grab-and-go eggs and granola and fancy cream sodas. Plus all the same wooden-pallet shelves holding everything up. But now, they’ve also got things like local draft beers and Old Fourth Distillery gin cocktails.

And that’s because... well, there’s a bar now. It’s where you’ll sit and thumb through random books and look at the shelved ingredients and eat an Urban Reuben with roasted pork, housemade horseradish and smoked gouda.

Linger if you’d like. Chat up your friendly proprietors, Calavino and Doria. You remember those lovely ladies. And should you and whoever you’ve swung through with decide to keep lingering, you may do so in either of the two dining rooms. They’re simple. They have tables and chairs and are the next best thing to being on a patio.

Speaking of, there’s a patio.

Twist ending.
