But what if the first two times already worked out great?
Suffice it to say, the third would be pretty damn charming.
Welcome to Ardiana, the third restaurant from the woman behind the heralded Gialina and Ragazza, now open in Noe Valley. Check it out.
You and some special other person will enter the blue-and-white dining room lousy with mid-century modern charm and take a seat under one of the large photos of the chef/owner's family, from which the restaurant takes its name.
Ask them how their day went. Complement something about their visage. Tell them all about the six mezze starters on the menu and how they come in individual, three, five or "The Whole Shabang" options.
Shabanging completed, it may then be time for a tomato and mozzarella pizza dusted with pecorino and parmesan, or the short rib that's been cooked in their massive oven, coffee, star anise and all.
All that'll be left to do from there is cap the night off with a low-ABV cocktail like the Phony Negroni with vermouth, bitters and Juniper-infused sake.
Followed by a regular negroni down the road.
