The blue-and-gold-painted bar with calming blue backlighting is likely the first thing you and your date will notice. Those are strong instincts. Follow those. They’ll lead you directly to the drink list, which is based around the six rasas (or tastes). That chai punch with Monkey Shoulder scotch served in an ornate teacup would not be an ill-advised way to start the evening.
Tongues will loosen. A Goan chorizo Scotch egg will be shared. You’ll eventually be escorted past gold curtains, wine cages set into the walls and a hand-painted mural of a woman (that’s Shirley, by the way) to your white marble table.
At which point anything from Old Delhi fried chicken to lamb shank nihari to grilled prawns might happen to you. Let them, and the world is yours.
Or at least those very specific parts of it.
