Drinks + Ice Cream = A Happier Hour

Every Wednesday during October, Brasserie S&P will host a happy hour. They’ll serve fancy drinks, then pair them strategically with a scoop of either Harvey Milk & Honey Graham or Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee ice cream. And that’s the story of how happy hours suddenly involved ice cream.

You, Tiburon and a Store Named Wellen

Wellen: An LA surf brand for rakish yet beach-appropriate gear like Hawaiian-print oxfords, colorful cotton-canvas pants and Blu Kicks zip-ups.
You: A person who enjoys such things.
Tiburon: The magical place where you’ll meet the brand in store form. Glad we hashed this out.

Opens Oct 9, Wellen, 46 Main St, Tiburon

FEELING BLUE

Sail Around. Watch the Blue Angels.

The next time someone asks you where you’re watching the Blue Angels this weekend, tell them you’re watching from Seaward. Then tell them Seaward is the name of an 82-foot schooner that’ll be sailing around the bay during the show. Because not including such supplemental information would be weird.

Oct 10, noon, $78, Bay Model Pier, 2100 Bridgeway, Sausalito, 415-331-3214, tickets here

Looks Like You’re Going to Tahoe

The Basecamp Hotel in Lake Tahoe has added some new rooms just in time for ski season. They’ve also added a beer garden just in time for Saturday’s Oktoberfest party with California beers, brats and live music. In summary: the Basecamp Hotel seems to be extremely cognizant of time.

We’re at a Loss for Brunch Words

Waffle-fried duck leg. Crème-brûlée-battered brioche french toast. Sous-vide hash browns stuffed with a soft-boiled egg. A sherry, Cardamaro, buttermilk and egg white cocktail. We’d keep going, but then we’d run out of time to mention that these are all part of Sous Beurre Kitchen’s new brunch.
