Thursday
Persian Street Food at Zaré
LUNCHING

Persian Street Food at Zaré

You can think of this in one of two ways: a pop-up lunch spot in its own permanent restaurant or a food truck without the truck. Either way, it’s Persian street food (think wraps with lamb, steak or chicken) that you can take out or eat at the bar with a drink. The power lunch knows no borders.

Friday
VIP Night at Strictly Sail Pacific
GOING SAILING

VIP Night at Strictly Sail Pacific

You’ve got some time before the America’s Cup lands here, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait to play the part. Mingle with fellow sailors and circumnavigators while perusing the selection of luxury yachts and sleek racers over gratis wine and bites. You wouldn’t want to risk scurvy...

Apr 15, 5-8pm, $30, USS Potomac, Jack London Square, Oakland, tickets here

Saturday
Butchery at Medlock Ames
BUTCHER BLOCK

Butchery at Medlock Ames

Not only will you hone your butchery skills on a whole hog, but your efforts will be rewarded with 30 pounds of pork. They won’t have spare tools, so you’ll need to bring a cleaver, boning knife and cooler. Afterwards, you’ll retire to the bar for apps and wine, and if you want something stronger, there’s that, too.

Apr 16, 1pm, $160, Medlock Ames, 3487 Alexander Valley Rd, Healdsburg, 707-431-8845

Sunday
Japanese Sword-Fighting Demo
BLADE RUNNER

Japanese Sword-Fighting Demo

So there’s a test-cutting and Japanese sword-fighting demo at the Cherry Blossom Festival. If you miss it—hey, your hot tub won’t fill itself with champagne—then look for the swordsmen during the 17-block Grand Parade. They’re the ones wearing 300-year-old armor and carrying swords that were made 1,000 years ago.

Monday
Painkillers at Smuggler’s Cove
TAX RELIEF

Painkillers at Smuggler’s Cove

Said to have originated in the British Virgin Islands (your tax haven of choice), rum-heavy Painkillers will be in abundance—and $3 off—at the Cove in honor of tax day. Try the two-, three- or four-ounce versions served in pineapples (to the first 100), or opt for the eight-ounce Joint Filer in a bucket. Uncle Sam would approve.
