A Day at the Beach in One Store

We are on the verge of the weekend. And, like always, you’re in the mood to explore a few things. Even if they’re all in the same place. Meet Voyager, a new woodsy beach house of a clothing store/surf shop/bookstore/art gallery in the Mission—opening tomorrow. Below, a few pieces to hunt down...

UD - Chinos from a French Outfitter

THE PANTS

Chinos from a French Outfitter

The What: What are otherwise basic khakis have been updated by two former graffiti artists from France with a slim fit, color-blocked waistband and check belt lining.
The Where: Hanging on pegs on the reclaimed wood wall from a Bolinas farmhouse, under deer antlers and a framed picture of Big Sur.
The When: Anytime you’re not surfing.
411:
Hixsept Chinos, $129, available (like everything here) at Voyager, 365 Valencia St (at 15th), 415-578-3212, see the slideshow
UD - Classic Board Shorts by Mollusk

THE SHORTS

Classic Board Shorts by Mollusk

The What: Board shorts designed here at Mollusk and made in LA. It’s clear these are made by guys who actually wear them—and there’s no scratchy (and unreliable) Velcro.
The Where:
Head to the Mollusk submarine in back. Make sure to look through the periscope. (Spoiler alert: it’s a continuous surfing loop.)
The When:
Okay, you’ll need a wetsuit to surf, but these’ll work underneath all that black neoprene.
UD - Pendoflex Surfboard

THE BOARD

Pendoflex Surfboard

The What: Custom-built surfboards by a California Zen surfer out of San Diego. All you need to know is that they’re fast and responsive in the barrel.
The Where: On the ceiling of the submarine.
The When: Those times you need a makeshift card table...
411:
Pendoflex Surfboard, starting at $850
UD - Navajo Pocketknife

THE ACCESSORY

Navajo Pocketknife

The What: An authentic Navajo pocketknife with hand-cut pieces of turquoise and ironwood crafted
411:
Navajo Pocket Knife, $39-$49
UD - Issue No. 7 of Apartamento

READING MATERIALS

Issue No. 7 of Apartamento

The What: A magazine by the name of Apartamento out of Barcelona and Milan that gives an insider’s look into an everyday guy’s apartment in Europe.
The Where:
On a table in the section they’re calling “Patchwork at Voyager.”
The When:
You feel like your coffee table is letting you down lately.
411:
Apartamento Magazine, $19.95
