Breaking Down the Dorian

An opulent den awaits.
More whiskey than not.
Welcome to The Dorian.

And should you require more than a haiku, what you have here is a warm, safe place for whiskey, oysters and generally exceptional evenings, opening Tuesday in the Marina.

To start, might we suggest the slideshow.

Wonderful. Now we’ll break things down like so:

The vibe: A rich, late-19th-century feel. Deep teal and purple hues, velvet and brass detailing, a glass chandelier over tufted-leather booths.

The upstairs study: Exists. In all its leather sofa, dark wood and private bar glory.

The martinis: You’ve got four solid options, from the Martinez with maraschino liqueur to the Gibson with orange bitters and house-pickled red onion.

The other liquids: More than 75 whiskeys. A large-format bourbon-grapefruit situation. Excessively large bottles of bubbly things.

The sustenance: Burgers topped with Dungeness crab and black truffle. Shellfish towers. Steak tartare with smoked quail egg. Other things you’ll find right here.

The most joyous hours of the day: Ah, late afternoon, when dollar oysters run amok and champagne goes for half of what it should.

The GIF-and-photo booth: Is patiently waiting to document your shenanigans.

Hang tight, little booth.
