A Wine Bar with 710 Bottles on the Wall

Totally clichéd date spots: Italian restaurants, winding paths near some kind of bridge, intimate wine bars...

Note that clichéd date spots can also be really good date spots.

About that last one, here’s West Coast Wine-Cheese—it’s a sleek little bar devoted to wines from this coast (and also cheese because cheese is delicious). And it’s open now. See the slideshow here.

It’s the kind of place that has little window-adjacent nooks. So... once you’ve gotten past the quartz bar and through the SoulCycle contingent (yeah, the studio’s a block away) and commandeered your nook, you should probably have some salmon rillettes, sheep’s milk cheese, a bottle of bubbly and some cheesecake as your reward.

You do have other options, though. Hundreds. They’re written all over the wall. The wall is basically the wine list.

Couple other things.

They’ve got a few beers on tap, some wings, a discreet television and some Giants-themed bottles of Mumm Napa Brut Prestige on hand as well.

Hard to imagine why you’d need those things on a wine date, but...
